After maximizing all of the opportunities in Sections 10.1 – 10.3, our next recommendation is to learn new medical diagnoses & management. Look for things you’re not currently doing that aren’t too difficult or expensive to adopt, such as:
- Speciality contact lens fitting.
- Myopic progression.
- Dry eye treatments.
- Punctal plugs.
- Amniotic membranes.
- Billing for diagnostics already present.
You can also add new diagnostic and procedural equipment to increase your billing opportunities (NOTE: this only becomes the highest-potential opportunity after you’ve maximized your practice’s COGS and eliminated unnecessary expenses before investing in new equipment).
